Le Petit Journal - 1920's Velodrome Motorpaced Racing
A rider takes a serious fall in a motorpace race.
Races are in velodromes or on other oval and steeply banked tracks to allow high-speed racing. After a flying start the cyclists link up with their pacers. Riding counterclockwise, passing can only be done on the right, a blue line separating the longer passing lane from the inner. Typically four to six couples compete in a race, covering up to 100 kilometers or racing over a set time.Original vintage turn of the century covers from the French daily Le Petit Journal. These highly collectable covers all have a cycling theme. Each original cover is carefully matted for your enjoyment. Matted size is 18 x 23".
